Across the Heights : Part-4 (Last Part)

“These are just flies, why are you so nervous seeing them?”

“Tanya, these are not flies. One of them is our emperor.”

“A fly is your emperor!” Tanya started laughing.

That moment both the flies started changing their shape. In few moments their body turned as huge as an elephant.” Tanya saw that one of the flies was staring at that creature angrily.

“So this is what you have been doing hiding from everybody else. You have broken the rule of our world. What punishment should be given to you?” That fly was talking in human’s language.

“P…Please forgive me lord! It’s my mistake.”

“This is not a mistake; it’s an offense, very big offense. You have not only created relation with a woman of a different world but you have revealed secrets of our world too. Do you know the punishment for this! Death and only death.” Said one of the fly and pointed towards the other fly. The other fly stepped forward and captured him. That creature was begging for apology from his emperor but the other fly swallowed him in a go.

The emperor now turned towards Tanya.

“You do not belong to our world because of which we cannot punish you. But the child in your womb cannot survive.” The fly was holding a kind of tool from which a spark came out and hit Tanya in her belly. Tanya felt as if someone has stuffed her stomach with burning coal.

Tanya was sitting with Rohit in the corner of a park.

“Why have you brought me here Rohit?” Tanya asked Rohit who was sitting quietly since long.

“Tanya! I want to say something to you. “Said Rohit bowing his head down.

“Anything important?”

“Yes…. Tanya. Actually the child in your womb is mine.”

“Rohit, I am actually worried regarding my dream and now you are kidding with me.”

“This is not a joke Tanya.” Rohit looked totally serious, “I wanted to tell you about it since very long but was unable to because I did not have that much strength.”

“But how is this possible?”

“Tanya I want to tell you everything today and lighten my heart. This happened exactly the day before we went to the art museum. When you had come to my place and were complaining about your headache. That time I had mixed up sleeping pills in your tea and made you sleep. It was a devilish intention which conquered my brain and I did all that with you which I should not have done.”

“Oh!” Tanya took a deep breath.

“Even after all this I’m still amazed. Because in a recent medical test I had come to know that i cannot become a father. Then how come you are pregnant?”

“Because, it’s not your child Rohit.” Tanya said calmly.

“If it’s not mine then whose is it?”

“This is what my dreams are explaining.”

“Your dreams are totally crap. The child is mine only.”

“Not at all Rohit. You yourself accepted that you don’t have the ability to be a father. This means its not your child.”

“Maybe you want to punish me for what I did by disagreeing to it. It’s ok! As you wish.”

Rohit started leaving from there filled with regrets. Tanya did not even try to stop him.

Few days later Tanya gave birth to a child. But the child was born dead.

Across the Heights : Part-3

A kind of chaos was created in Tanya’s group.

“Pregnant before getting married! I never expected that Tanya would be like this.” Rizwan said. At the same time he had covered up his ears with his hands.

“Tanya is pious just like any monk. You cannot even think about her this way.” Rohit said to Rizwan angrily.

“OK. Don’t fight.” Saba came in between and made them quite, “She might have met with an accident.”

“I & Tanya are very close friends. She never hides anything from me. If something would have happened with her she would have told me about it.”

“Then there can be only two things possible. Either the doctor’s report is wrong or a miracle has taken place.” Rizwan said.

“Talking about miracle in today’s world of science and technology is unjustified.” Saba said.

This way the argument ended up without result.

“The child in your womb is mine.” Tanya heard that manly creature saying it one more time.

“How can I believe that a dream is governing my real life.” Tanya knew it in her dream also that she is dreaming.

“You will have to believe it. If not now, when you give birth to the child then you’ll believe.”

“Who the hell are you & why are you troubling me this way?”

“Troubling you? Is It? I love you. I don’t want to give you even a slight of pain. This is why I have decided that I will take care of the kid. I will not let you face any kind of problem.”

“How will you take care of him? You are always in my dreams.” Tanya gazed at him with a dismissive look.

“Yes. It’s my big helplessness that I can’t meet you in the real world.” He said in a sad tone.

“What kind of Helplessness?”

“The difference between the dimensions between us doesn't allow me to enter in your world.”

“What do you mean?” Tanya asked shockingly.

“This world is made up of seven dimensions. Amongst which people know about the four of them which are length, breath, height and time.”

“Yes, I have learnt about these four dimensions very well in my graduation.” Tanya agreed to him.

“In reality every living being exists in between these four dimensions and feel their existence. If any of the dimensions is removed then there existence will vanish.”

“That is true. But why are you telling me about all this.”

“I just want to tell you that our existence does not exist in between the dimensions in which you live.”

“Then where is it?”

“It exists in the remaining three dimensions. This is the reason why I cannot meet you in reality.”

“If you cannot meet me in reality then how can you become the father of the child who is getting nourished in my womb? As he is going to be a normal human being living in these four dimensions.”

That manly creature took a deep breath & started explaining, “Tanya! If an existence is created by two different dimensional groups, then he is going to belong to the lesser dominant dimension group. According to this rule of mathematics this child is going to enter into my world. This was the reason why I had told you once that I am going to take care of this child.”

Tanya started wondering something, and then said,” What an irony it is. Even after being a mother I won’t be able to touch my own child. You have put me into such a strange difficulty.”

“I have done all this for the sake of my heart. Otherwise in my world it is not permitted to even contact a person from a different dimensional group. I was standing near you while you were looking at that picture in the art museum and my heart skipped a beat as soon as I saw you. And I appeared in front of you taking the form of that picture.”

“What do you mean? Is this not your actual form?” Tanya asked shockingly.

“In our world nobody has a definite shape. We can take any form and shape to appear in front of anybody.”

Suddenly that creature started shivering as soon as he saw something. His face had turned pale due to astonishment.

“What Happened?” Tanya asked him noticing his condition.

He pointed her in a direction. Tanya saw two house flies were sticking on a leaf of a plant.

Across the Heights : Part-2

“What’s the matter Tanya? What are you worried about these days?” Tanya couldn’t hide her problem from her closet friend Rohit.

“I’m not worried, but yes I am in a dilemma.”

Both were in a restaurant to enjoy Chinese cuisine.

“What kind of dilemma?” Rohit asked.

“I have been getting same weird dream every day.” said Tanya and elaborated the complete dream to him.

“It seems like you have been affected a lot by that picture in the museum. It is a scientific fact that if something affects our brain, there is a possibility that the same thing is seen in the dream again and again.”

“It can be possible. But that picture was not so special that it affects me so much.”

“It’s not necessary that what affects us is special. You must have seen at times that very ordinary people unknowingly sing any rubbish song. Actually that song is sitting in some corner of their brain and it affects them as if it is very important to them.”

“Let it be anything. But that dream has become a very big trouble for me. I feel as if I am living a double life. One while being alive and the other in wonderland.”

“Why don’t you consult a psychologist.” Rohit suggested.

“I’m also thinking the same thing.” Tanya said and started getting up but sat down again keeping her hand on her forehead.

“What happened” Rohit asked shockingly

“I’m feeling dizzy.”

“It feels like the dream has affected your health also. Come, I’ll take you to the doctor.” Rohit held her hand and gave her support.

Doctor well examined Tanya and came out asking Rohit “Is she your wife?”

“Not yet. What happened doctor?”

“In such conditions her husband should take care of her. She is pregnant since three months and she is suffering from anemia.”

Listening to the doctor Rohit fell into deep astonishment.

The doctor continued “Look, this is a serious matter. I want to meet her husband or talk to him. I want to give him some important piece of advice.”

Rohit took a deep breath and said “Doctor, Tanya is unmarried. How can I believe you that she is pregnant?”

“Oh! I’m Sorry. But the reality is what I have told you.”

During this Tanya had also come out of the check up room.

When she heard what doctor had said she just said, “Impossible!”

Across the Heights : Part - 1

A Sci-Fi Story

In the middle of the city was situated ‘Strokes’ art gallery, which was crowded by arts lovers. In this exhibition of modern arts, many well known artists’ paintings were present.

In between the spectators there was also a group of college student.

Tanya was neither interested nor understood the modern art. Every painting appeared to her as an inverted routed sweet to her. Anyway, as she was one of the group members, she was forcefully dragged along with the group.

But this one painting forced her to gaze a look at it. Don’t know what it had in it, there was nothing so catchy in the picture. The canvas was painted with a man trying to pluck a fruit from a tree. Tanya was so lost in the picture that she did not realize the group had left her behind.

At the same moment darkness swept into the art museum because of a power cut.

Suddenly Tanya found the same man’s picture talking to her.

“Come! I was waiting for you only.” The picture produced a flowing voice.

“Wh…Who are you?” Tanya asked shockingly.

“Don’t be scared. Come close to me. I’m your love. I love you.” He stepped towards her opening his arms wide. Tanya tried stepping away from him, but it seemed as if her feet were frozen there.

Soon the man from the picture wrapped her in his arms tightly. Suddenly, all the walls in between them fell apart. It was a frightening thunder that Tanya was caught in and Tanya fainted when the thunder faded away.

When Tanya gained her consciousness back, she found herself on a white bed and the bed was surrounded by her group members. Worry was reflected from their faces. As soon as they saw Tanya opening her eyes, a sigh of relief ran through their faces.

“Tanya, are you alright?” Rohit stepped forward and asked Tanya.

“Yes. B...But.”

“You fainted while looking at a picture in the museum. Then we brought you here in this hospital. Thank god! You are OK.” Vinay Said.

“This means I was dreaming while being unconscious.” Tanya Murmured.

But this was just the beginning of the dreams. Thereafter she started dreaming everyday about the same man hugging her in his arms and talking about love and romance.

“My love is getting nourished in your womb.” He said one day.

“Really! And even I don’t know about it?”Tanya said jokingly.

“I’m not lying.” He said seriously.
